The types of steel plate cutting tools can be divided into flame cutting equipment, laser cutting equipment, wire cutting equipment, shearing machine, plasma cutting, and ultra-high pressure water cutting, as follows:
- Flame cutting equipment: Steel plate cutting and processing. Flame cutting equipment has low cost and is a means of cutting thick metal plates, but it has its shortcomings in thin plate cutting. Compared with plasma, flame cutting has a much larger heat affected zone and greater thermal deformation. In order to cut accurately and effectively, operators need to possess advanced skills to timely avoid thermal deformation of metal plates during the cutting process.
- Laser cutting equipment: Steel plate cutting and processing. Laser cutting equipment can cut stainless steel below 4mm. Adding oxygen to the laser beam can cut 20mm thick carbon steel, but after oxygen cutting, a thin oxide film will be formed on the cutting surface. The cutting thickness can be increased to 20mm, but the size error of the cutting parts is relatively large. The price of laser cutting equipment is quite expensive, about 1.5 million yuan or more.
- Wire cutting equipment: Wire cutting electric discharge wire cutting, abbreviated as wire cutting. It has developed on the basis of electrical discharge perforation and forming machining. It not only advances the application of electrical discharge machining, but also replaces electrical discharge perforation and forming machining in some aspects. Nowadays, wire cutting machines account for the majority of electric discharge machine tools.
- Shearing machine: A shearing machine uses a moving upper blade and a fixed lower blade, with a reasonable blade gap, to apply shearing force to metal sheets of various thicknesses, causing the sheets to break and separate according to the required size. The steel plate cutting and cutting machine belongs to a type of forging machinery, mainly used in the metal processing industry.
- Plasma cutting: Plasma cutting machine is a processing method that uses the heat of high-temperature plasma arc to melt (and evaporate) the metal part or part at the cutting edge of the workpiece, and uses the momentum of high-speed plasma to remove the molten metal to form a cutting edge.
- Ultra high pressure water cutting: Ultra high pressure water cutting, also known as water knife and water jet, is a high-energy (380MPa) water flow generated by multi-stage pressurization of ordinary water, and then sprayed and cut at a speed of nearly kilometers per second through a very fine ruby nozzle (Φ 0.1-0.35mm). This cutting method is called ultra-high pressure water cutting.
