Wire stripping pliers are a tool frequently used by construction engineers in their daily work, and of course, they are also frequently used in daily life. So, how to use wire stripping pliers correctly? FINDER shares some precautions to be taken when using wire strippers.
Select the appropriate wire stripping blade based on the thickness and model of the cable. The blade of the wire stripping pliers comes in different sizes, suitable for wires and cables of different thicknesses. Choosing the appropriate blade can better strip off the insulation layer of the wires.
Place the prepared cable in the middle of the blade of the wire stripping tool and select the length of wire to be stripped. Determine the length of the wire that needs to be stripped. Generally, the length of the wire that needs to be stripped is the length of the plug or soldering plus the length of the crimping terminal, to ensure that the wire can be firmly fixed to the plug or connector after being inserted into the plug or soldered.
Grasp the handle of the wire stripping tool, clamp the cable, and slowly apply force to gradually peel off the outer surface of the cable. When using wire stripping pliers to strip wires, it is necessary to insert the wire into the stripping port, then gently pinch the handle of the wire stripping pliers to allow the scissors to partially cut open the insulation layer of the wire. You can also press the handle of the wire stripper diagonally and then push it out in the opposite direction, making it easier to remove the insulation layer of the wire with the force of the lever.
Release the tool handle and remove the cable. At this point, the metal of the cable is neatly exposed, and the remaining insulating plastic is intact and undamaged.
Press the line. Place the exposed wires into the crimping port, and then use the crimping function of the wire stripping pliers to press the wires firmly to ensure that they can be securely fixed to the plug or connector.
When using wire stripping pliers, please pay attention to the following safety precautions: wear goggles to prevent splashing objects from injuring the eyes; Confirm the direction of fragment splashing before cutting to avoid injuring people and objects around; Be sure to close the tip of the blade tightly and place it in a safe place where children cannot reach it.
